James E. McDonough has been a computer programmer for 33 years. Initially a mainframe programmer, he made the switch to ABAP almost 20 years ago, and now works as a contract ABAP programmer, designing and writing ABAP programs on a daily basis. An advocate of using the object-oriented programming features available with ABAP, he has been teaching private ABAP education courses over the past few years, where his background in education enables him to present and explain complicated concepts in a way that makes sense to beginners. James received his degree in music education from Trenton State College, and spent two years teaming music in the New Jersey public school system. He maintains an active presence as a freelance jazz bassist between New York and Philadelphia.
