  1. Right book for report designers

Posted by Uladzislau Pralat on Jan 28th, 2013

Author of the book tied to fulfill an ambitious task of teaching end-users developing Crystal Reports. I think, that right from the beginning the goal was not realistic. Some aspects of development still remain too technical for end-users no matter what you do. End users should use Web Intelligence which is more intuitive and suitable to user for ad-hoc analysis and self-service. Still it is a very nice try.

More technical and prepared readers will benefit from the book. Author succeeded teaching Crystal Reports basics, key strengths (drill-downs, sub-reports, formatting, etc) and at the same time explaining specifics of reporting from SAP BW in one book (BW hierarchies, drill-downs to ERP).
