This book is only good for beginners (only!). If you have already have few years of SRM 5 experience and looking for particular knowledge (like features of team shopping, LAM, PPS etc..) with this book - you will be disappointed.

Ramki & Padma,
Though I had written you a detailed mail on this book being a critical mass for our successful go-live for the Plan Driven Procurement implementation with Plant Maintenance scenario, I would like to put in a specific review here.
Though this book was based on SRM 6.0 transitioning to SRM 7.0, but some of the concepts and the case studies were exemplary.
As I had mentioned earlier, the Client side business folks used to carry this book in and out of meetings and had already prepared themselves for a Rapid deployment project.
The success story of our project is very clearly articulated in my blog
Lessons Learnt in an SRM 7.0 Plan Driven Procurement Scenario implementation.

All the best and please keep providing that mentor dope via great content

This is a good book for the beginners or executives who are providing project oversight for the implementation. The concepts are well explained. However most of the information is available in the public domain, but this book certainly gets all concepts into one single reference book alike other SAP Press books. Having lead two major global SRM rollout, I strongly recommend this book to those project managers and executives who are new to SRM or considering implementing it. The current SRM platform has undergone change and this book needs some serious updates.

Thanks Padma and Rama for such a useful and scope-complete book. I learned and enjoyed a lot reading it. It is a shame chapter 12 “Contract Management” had let outdated with the new SRM 7.0 Central Contract Management concept but I suppose it will be updated on a next edition along with other 7.0 enhancements. However a fantastic SRM reference book.
