There are a few books on BW in the market but I find this may be the only one dedicated to the integration of BW with a functional module i.e. SD which is typical for a BW project. I bought this book after I completed my first BW-SD project and found the examples in this good are useful. An example is that one of the report requirements of the project my users wanted but did not bring up during the requirement gathering phase is to filter out the rejected quotation the quantity and subtotal of which should not be included in the calculation in the report. The issue was only identified after the UAT and it took much time for my project team to sort out the issue in collaboration with the functional analyst because the report is a summary report with aggregated information of line items. I believe this book provides a good understanding of the requirement of a typical BW-SD project and would recommend this to anyone who needs to acquire this knowledge. However, I think this book can be improved by providing some basic information on how to set up the logistics extractors in ECC as this configurational knowledge is essential to a BW-SD project. Thank you.
