    excellent book for developers

  2. Posted by jay trivedi on Sep 24th, 2010

The book is a good reference and presents topics in areas of planning and consolidation with instructions and screenshots that make it easy to follow. The authors have done a good job of explaining the concepts before presenting the technical implementation of functions. I found the case study to be very beneficial to train myself on the use the software.

  3. Why did they not ask someone who knew the technology to write this book

Posted by S Flyte on Sep 20th, 2010

Having worked with SAP BPC (both MS and NW vversions) since it's release by SAP and the predecessor product (Outlooksoft) over seceral years, I was incredibly disappointed by this book.

The book is written by technologists who undoubtedly know NW and likely the former SAP products for planning and consolidation tasks. However, they write a book which repeats chapter after chapter the same formula of 'We are about to explain..." followed by a few bullet points from various marketing material, possibly some material copied and pasted from the help files or the training guide which is very rarely (if ever) accompanied by any explanation and closing with "You have now learned how to..."

They annoyingly replicate the errors in descriptions of functions (e.g. MNU_ESUBMIT_REFRESH) from the help files. They make banal statements of the importance of being able to do a currency conversion for a statutory consolidation. They devote a page to listing the Business Rules and consider that a lesson in configuring a consolidation.

  4. Provide Step by Step instructions on SAP BPC NW

Posted by Ram Nathan on Jul 8th, 2010

If you're starting /considering implementing SAP BPC in Netweaver Platform, this book will be very helpful.

Written with real-world examples, very easy and accessible language, this book provides the tools and tips you need to understand how SAP BPC can be implemented in NetWeaver platform .

I highly recommend this book & It is a good professional investment
